THE CORONAVIRUS HOME EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS KIT

Here’s the start of what you need to be prepared for a potential coronavirus quarantine (in addition to medicine and masks):

1. Toilet Paper. I can’t imagine anything worse than begging for a $50 single roll of toilet paper off the black market. Stock up now!

2. Spray sanitizer. The outside world is scary, start a cleaning protocol for anything entering your space and make it easy for yourself with this spray-spray sanitizer (for food deliveries/ items from the outside world)

3. Paper Towels. It’s a messy world out there and in your home. Make sure you have the ability to sanitize and clean efficiently and safely!

4. Dishwashing Detergent. Imagine running out of dishwasher detergent while eating three meals a day at home. Say goodbye to that book you thought you would finally have a chance to read, or just get some extra now!

5. Extra toothbrushes. You know that this will be the one time you drop your toothbrush in the toilet. Stock up now or be stuck choosing whether you won’t brush your teeth for a month or more, or have to stomach the alternative.

6. Hand Soap. You may feel the urge to wash your hands every time you turn on the news, as you should. Hand washing is the number one way to prevent the spread of the virus so be prepared and stock up.

7. Batteries. Stock up now and make sure to get the size compatible with the devices you need to power.

8. Battery Powered Cell Phone Charger. Rest easy knowing you’ve got a reliable option to provide a lifeline to the outside world. Worry not about having to precharge any backups this one is always ready to go with a few fresh batteries.

9. Hand-Cranked Emergency Radio. Cell phone towers may get overloaded in an emergency so it’s time to go old school to get crucial information. Get your cranky teenagers cranking to get some updates, important information and an extra power bar on their phone to finish the last round of candy crush.

10. Battery Powered Lantern. The last thing you want to do is be sitting around in the dark. Prepare now

11. First Aid Kit. Be prepared to handle any minor cuts, bruises or injuries at home. Hospitals will be far away and overwhelmed so give yourself the advantage of providing first aid at home.

12. Three day supply of water. Humans can only last a short time without water. Have enough water on hand to provide for each member of the household for a minimum of 3 days. Provide your family with an uncontaminated reliable water source even if the taps go dry.

13. Three Day Supply of non-perishable food. Canned foods are great but heavy.  Allow experts to balance your nutrition and provide a variety of meals in lightweight packaging ready to go wherever you and your family need to go.

14. Designated Go Bag. Store your supplies in an easily accessible place to be prepared for any emergency whether it’s a stay at home quarantine or a hike to the nearest emergency shelter have everything in one place ready to go.
